SHEC Energy has developed the most efficient suite of tools to collect, transfer and store solar thermal power.


THE SHEC COLLECTOR
The system starts with our super concentration solar collectors. SHEC soon realized that the current mirror technology available was expensive and inefficient so we went to work creating our own very high speed glass mirror production (30 times faster than industry standards) all while lowering the cost of mirror production.

THE SHEC RECEIVER
Our patented receiver is able to harness an intense solar beam without damage and with extremely low energy loss. Similar to a high-powered laser, the solar beam is intense enough to burn through steel.

Combining our mirror and receiver technologies allows us to produce much higher temperature generation (850°C or 1,532°F) with very little energy loss. This greatly increases overall system efficiency by about two times over competing technologies.

 

 

THE SHEC HEAT TRANSPORT TECHNOLOGY

Current technologies use either a hydrocarbon or salt based solution to transport the heat from the solar collector to the boiler or storage system. Both of these have limited operating temperatures of 390°C and 560°C. This limited heat transport capability limits overall plant efficiency especially if thermal storage is incorporated.

SHEC Energy has developed a complete suite of high temperature heat carrier technologies including the carrier, pumps and joints that can all operate at 850°C.

 

THE SHEC HEAT STORAGE TECHNOLOGY

“The Holy grail of solar technology” SHEC has developed a heat storage system that will allow us to deliver twice the temperature of steam to the turbine over competing technologies (570°C) from stored energy allowing the SHEC power plant to deliver power to the grid day and night. READ MORE
